25 WIMPOLE STREET
Platform were appointed by the Howard de Walden Estate in 2022 to lead an incumbent design team for the repositioning of 25 Wimpole Street and 18-20 Harley Place. Situated in the heart of the Harley Street Medical Area this exciting redevelopment will include high quality flexible research and development space and newly refurbished residential flats to meet the ongoing demands of the area.
Platform led the design team to refine the brief and prepare a planning application for the partial excavation of the existing rear garden, formation of a new basement below the existing structure of Harley Place and new link building to connect the existing properties. The works will also comprise the internal adaptation of the ground and lower ground floors of Wimpole Street and complete refurbishment of Harley Place. Works are to take place within and adjacent to occupied buildings and several sensitive neighbours (hospitals, schools, businesses) with extensive temporary works to retain the existing structures.
A planning application has been submitted and currently being determined.
